We are a small organic farm located in Long Beach, WA. Our farm serves our community through restaurants, our farm store, and sometime through Farmers Markets. We also have a C.S.A. program we hope to grow to 30 members, with two different drop off points. We have almost an acre in cultivation with 2 large greenhouses, a geo-dome and a number of beds outside.
As an intern/WWOOFer here at Green Angel Gardens, you will be working with guidance from Larkin Stentz, owner and instructor in BioIntensive food production.
It will be a hands-on experience, you will get to learn many aspects of organic food production, sustainable living practices and having fun.
You will do such things (but not limited too) as seeding seed trays, planting/transplanting, watering, weeding, prepping beds, compost teas, feeding and caring for our chickens, collecting farm fresh eggs, preparing compost, a little carpentry, farm store care and stocking with fresh organic vegetables that we will harvest together out of our very own Greenhouses.
Transportation will be provided within reason. I.e. shopping, outings, etc.. A farm bicycle is available too. Town is a 15 20 minute walk as is the Beach!
We will put you on our Labor and Industries list for the farm for work related health issues if you are an intern. We will ask you to sign a waiver of financial responsibility for illnesses or other harmful events, (accidents) in the event they do occur.
We can discuss the weekly schedule when you arrive. If you need to find outside employment during your time here we will work around your schedule. Our desire is for you to work at least 4 8 hour days per week. Your work begins at 8am; an hour lunch at noon; stop work at 5pm. Some days will have inside sit down lesson times too. Communal dinners would be nice, not mandatory.
